Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, from Cleveland, Ohio:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come...
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."
46. Take care of your body so you will always have somewhere to live.

12 Universal Laws

1. The Law of Cause and Effect -- For every cause, there is an effect. Nothing happens by accident.

2. The Law of Control -- You feel happy to the degree to which you feel you are in control of your own life. You feel unhappy to the degree to which you feel you are not in control of your own life.

3. The Law of Belief -- Whatever you believe, with conviction, becomes your reality.

4. The Law of Expectations -- Whatever you expect, with confidence, becomes your own self-fulfilling prophecy.

5. The Law of Attraction -- You are a living magnet; you invariably attract into your life the people, ideas, and circumstances that harmonize with your dominant thoughts.

6. The Law of Correspondence -- Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.

7. The Law of Habit -- Whatever you do repeatedly eventually becomes a new habit.

8. The Law of Emotion -- Every action that you take is stimulated by an emotion of some kind, either positive or negative.

9. The Law of Concentration -- Whatever you dwell upon, grows and expands in your life.

10. The Law of Subconscious Activity -- Your subconscious mind accepts any thought, plan, or goal created by the conscious mind and then organizes your thoughts and behaviors to bring that goal into reality.

11. The Law of Reciprocity -- People always strive to reciprocate for anything you do for them.

12. The Law of Sowing and Reaping -- Whatever you sow, that also shall you reap.

To One Who Has Been Done Dirt

. ...Cry or curse or call it unfair, but be grateful 'til the grave that in this hurt you"re the one who received, and not the one who gave. -Carol Lynn Pearson

Choose ....

To live by choice, not by chance;
To make changes, not excuses;
To be motivated, not manipulated;
To be useful, not used;
To excel, not compete.
I choose self-esteem not self pity.
I choose to listen to the inner voice,
not the random opinion of others.
Sometimes each day is a battle
so we try to make each day a victory
one day at a time...

National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer
- May 6 -
No ocean can hold it back.
No river can overtake it.
No whirlwind can go faster.
No army can defeat it.
No law can stop it.
No distance can slow it.
No disease can cripple it.
No force on earth is more powerful or effective than the power of prayer. - Linn Carlson, DaySpring writer

Recipe For A Happy Life

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them.
That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle.
"An idle mind is the devil's workshop," the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things. When the children are young, that is all you can afford. When they are in college,
That is all you can afford. When you are on retirement, that is all you can afford.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. Laugh so much that you can be tracked
In the store by your distinctive laughter.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is
Ourselves. Be alive while you are alive, don't put out a mailbox on the highway of death and just wait
In residence for your mail.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it is family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies,
Whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can
Improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next county, a foreign country, but not to guilt country.

Don't Lose Today

If yesterday was lost in grief,
don't lose today and tomorrow by
keeping it in your memory.

Lessons learned

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned....
That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned....That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned.... That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned....
That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned.... That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.
I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned.... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned... That I wish I could have told my Dad that I love him one more time before he passed away.
I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned.... That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
I've learned.... That when your newly born child holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned ... That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.
I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

Why?

Why Suffer in Silence
When I can moan, whimper and complain

Power To Tolerate

Power To Tolerate
You have the power to tolerate anyone and any situation. But tolerance is not just suffering in silence. It means going beyond any personal discomfort you may feel, and giving a gift to whom ever you would tolerate. Give your time, attention, understanding, compassion, care - all are gifts, which paradoxically, you also receive in the process of giving. And, as you do, you will experience your own self esteem and inner strength grow. In this way you can turn tolerance into strength.

FAITH IS THE VICTORY

FAITH IS THE VICTORY

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13

When going through a season of trials, it can be tempting to start asking the question, “What did I do wrong?” Although a little “spiritual-inventory” is a good thing, don’t automatically assume that because things seem chaotic that you’ve done something wrong. The devil is attacking you because of your FAITH! He hates your faith because he knows that your faith is your victory! The enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy you by trying to devour your faith. Remember, he doesn’t care what he has to throw at you; his mission is to talk you out of believing. Your faith quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked one (Ephesians 6:16), so if he can get you to stop believing God’s love and care for you, he can short-circuit the good things God has planned for your life.

So, don’t give up! Hang in there and keep believing! As today’s scripture encourages, believing God’s promises of good will keep you from losing heart. Stand strong in faith in the midst of trial and behold the glory of God’s deliverance!

Faith Declaration: My faith in God’s Word is my guarantee of victory. I will not quit, therefore I cannot be defeated!

Life, Hope and Love

Life ends when you stop dreaming, hope ends when you stop believing, love ends when you stop caring, relationship ends when you stop sharing.
